Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick recently sent a message to Texas schools:
“We’re coming for the books.”
Now it's time for Texas voters to send a message of their own.
We're coming for the ballot box.
Across Texas, decisions made by state legislators, school board members, and other elected officials can determine what happens inside our libraries.
They can support librarians or attack them.
They can defend the freedom to read or restrict it.
They can respect the rights of every family or allow a small number of people to decide what everyone else's children are allowed to read.
That's why we're asking Texans to pledge to vote for libraries and the freedom to read.
