Volunteer Alert: Ask the Texas House State Affairs Committee to vote against HB 3225
Share
The Texas House State Affairs Committee will hold a committee meeting and public hearing on a number of proposed house bills on Monday, April 14. The meeting is scheduled to start at 8:00AM, and may last all day. Members of the public are invited to provide testimony on the bills listed on the hearing notice- including House Bill 3225- which would impose mandatory restrictions on minor's access to certain public library books, and does not allow for any parental opt-in or opt-out.
Use this volunteer form to keep in touch leading up to Monday's meeting, and to let us know what action you will take to help us oppose HB 3225.
Find more information- including links to the form to submit written public comments to the Texas House, an email template, committee member names and phone numbers and a sample phone call script here.
Finally, if you'll be at the Capitol to speak, or just to support those who are, please wear BLUE for BOOKS! (or your favorite book-loving, freedom to read apparel!)
Will you volunteer?
